FAQ AND HELPFUL TIPS

How to measure for your hat size

To measure your head, take a cloth measuring tape and wrap it around your head at your eyebrow level.

How long will it take for me to get my hat?

Each hat is custom made to order. Depending on the style and depth of customization, it can take up to two weeks to ship, If you are concerned with your piece arriving in time, you may always call our office for an estimate on how long a piece can take to create.

Can I change the color of my hat?

Absolutely! We welcome custom orders! If you have a color already in mind,  simply list it in the notes to seller box on the checkout page. If you need extra assistance or more color options, you may email us at camhats@camhats.com or call at 212 279 1775, we would be more than happy to help!

What shipping method do you use? Is the cost of shipping already included?

We ship UPS ground. The price of the hat DOES NOT include shipping. That will be added at checkout. We can expedite at an extra cost.  If you need your hat earlier or on a specific date, please list that in the notes to seller section. By choosing the offline payment option, shipping costs can be adjusted based distance and box size.

Do you have a store location I can come to?

We have our showroom and studio located on 34th Street in New York City. How to care for and store your hat

Proper care and storage is essential to ensuring that your handmade Christine A. Moore Millinery hat will last for years to come.

  • Always hang a hat on a hook, hat stand or head form to retain shape and freshness.

  • If these options are unavailable, you can store your hat in the box it came in. Be sure to pack the crown tightly, and keep tissue under the brim in the box to prevent creases. Packing tissue tightly around the hat in the box will also keep the hat in place and prevent crushing . (see video right)

  • We advise against packing a hat in a suitcase if traveling, unless the hat is labeled "packable." Most airlines will let your carry a hat box on, otherwise the box can be checked like luggage.

  • to revive feather or crushed trim, a shot of steam from an iron or a kettle will do the trick. You can also do some at home refreshing of the crown and brim (see video right).

  • If the hat needs reblocking, you can call us for further instruction. We will always reblock one of our hats, free of charge. We just ask you pay for shipping both ways.

  • Do not dry clean. Most marks can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth or oxiclean color safe wipes. If you got makeup on your hat, makeup remover works the best.
